Teaser Tuesdays 7/2/13

teaser tuesdays logoTeaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

“His explanations continued. Examples, details, complications of his work. They made my throat go dry and my mind whirl. He had really done it.

My father had played God and won. ~ page 236.”

I’m going to assume that everyone at least knows the basic story behind The Island of Doctor Moreau, even if you’ve never seen the movie or read the original book by H.G. Wells. The Madman’s Daughter is an interesting mash-up of that original story as told from Juliet’s POV.

Thank you for reading!
